We have been working with the MLB Network since it's launch in 2009 and are proud to have produced features, content for their live broadcast, and worked on original programming for them.
Having worked with them for over a decade the producers from MLB Network have become some of our closest friends and we love collaborating with them bringing their concepts and visions to life.
Our partnership with the Brooklyn Nets began in January of 2022 when ImagineMotion was asked to produce a five-episode series hosted by fitness instructor Ally Love. The series, appropriately titled “From Brooklyn With Love” features five Brooklyn based restaurants who each bring a different cultural experience, and taste, to their neighborhood. ImagineMotion was integral in this project beginning with its inception and saw it through the entirety of the production process working closely with both the Nets creative team as well as the host, Ally Love. We’re incredibly proud of how this series came out and look forward to working more with the Nets.
We first collaborated with MSG Network in 2018 when we produced, shot and edited a feature for them on lifelong Knicks fan and New York-based artist Jojo Anavim. Our relationship with the network grew from there. We went on to create a number of features for them including Ron Baker: From Kansas to NYC which won the 2020 New York Emmy Award for Lifestyle Feature.
Our favorite project to date has been the pilot we pitched, directed, shot and edited for a new series called The City of Hoops. In episode 1, “Pickup Games,” we show what basketball means to the lives of three groups of New Yorkers and their pickup leagues.
In episode 1 of this new series for MSG Network we show what basketball means to the lives of three groups of New Yorkers and their pickup leagues.
Lifelong Knicks fan and New York-based artist Jojo Anavim has created custom pieces for Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Amar’e Stoudemire, and has become one of the NBA’s household names. We had a blast producing, shooting and editing this feature.
Ron Baker: From Kansas to NYC won the 2020 New York Emmy Award for Lifestyle Feature. Coming from rural Kansas, while playing for the Knicks Baker found the Upper West Side a reprieve from the bustling streets surrounding the Garden. Being native New Yorkers ourselves, and having spent much of our youth on the Upper West Side, this feature gave us the rare opportunity to showcase our old neighborhood and some of our favorite local spots.
Our relationship with Sports Illustrated began with shooting short features in 2013. It has since grown to directing, shooting and editing short and feature length documentaries including The Logan Effect (which was the cover of the March 11th 2019 magazine issue) and 89 Blocks which was Executive Produced by Lebron James and Mav Carter and aired on Fox.
Last year we had the unique opportunity to spend four months in Paradise, CA while the town and it’s people recovered from The Camp Fire, the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California's history, and the most expensive natural disaster in the world in 2018. The result of our time there is a feature length documentary which we hope will be released in 2021. Check back for future updates.
It was beyond an honor to be the Director of Photography for Major League Legends: Hank Aaron.
Hank Aaron is not only one of the most talented and accomplished athletes in American sports history, but also one of the most heroic. You don't have to be a baseball fan to appreciate Aaron's impact on Civil Rights and the country as a whole, and furthermore you don't have to be a baseball fan to appreciate the cinematic beauty of this documentary.
In addition to acting as DP for Major League Legends: Hank Aaron, we were one of the key cinematographers for the accompanying shows on Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, and Ted Williams.
Henry "Hank" Aaron didn't aim to become Major League Baseball's home run king, nor did he intend to grow into a Civil Rights icon. But because of his remarkable strength, both in power and in character, he became both. This is the story of Hammerin' Hank, a victim of discrimination and bigotry his whole life, from his Alabama upbringing through his days in the Negro League and notably during his quest to capture Babe Ruth's home run crown. Through it all, he stayed focused, stood up to every challenge, and 755 big swings later, became a legend.
He was known as The Great Bambino, The Sultan of Swat, and simply The Babe, but in the annals of history he's known simply as one of the greatest sportsmen of all time. Discover the rags-to-riches story of George Herman Ruth and witness his climb from reformatory student to baseball great to America's first modern mega-celebrity. His story transcends his baseball accomplishments, which were legion, and we look beyond the caricature and mythic legends to reveal the real Babe Ruth, an American Hercules who redefined the game of baseball.
It's the hardest challenge any sport has to offer: using a thin bat to hit a small, hard ball approaching at tremendously high speeds. Ted Williams met that challenge better than any other professional baseball player. He's a member of the 500 Home Run Club and the last player to hit .400 in a single season, but numbers only tell so much about the man who wore the Red Sox uniform. Discover the truth behind the legend, revealed through rare footage and interviews from the MLB archives with baseball experts and the late Splendid Splinter himself.
Lou Gehrig was one of the best players to ever take the field, and one of the most durable. His streak of 2,130 consecutive games played earned him the nickname The Iron Horse, but it was his strength of character off the field that made him an American icon. Join us as we examine a baseball hero who was cut off in the prime of his life, but never flinched in the face of mortality. Rare archival MLB footage and interviews with historians, psychiatrists, and academic mythologists offer a wide perspective into his legendary life and career.
TPT’s unique access to elite athletes from a wide range of sports has resulted in shoots that are inspiring, entertaining, and even delicious, and video content that is fun, compelling, and informative.
Our work for TPT has included shooting, directing, producing, editing and some production management.
We relished the opportunity to work on two specials for Animal Planet, Puppy Bowl: Where Are They Now? and Stars To The Rescue.
For both shows we were involved in producing, shooting and editing, and are extremely proud not only with the finished product, but the meaningful message both shows inform: the importance of adopting animals instead of purchasing them
Puppy Bowl: Where Are They Now sniffs out your favorite K-9 contenders from over a decade of competition to see what they’ve been up to since gaining their football fame. In addition to reviewing highlights and penalties from Puppy Bowls past, we see how our mixed-breed MVPs (Most Valuable Puppies) and tail-wagging bench warmers have adjusted to life after retirement. Since being adopted, these dogs do wake up calls instead of play calls, never get a penalty for illegal napping, and their workouts include mountain biking and walking the runway.
Stars To The Rescue takes you behind the scenes to learn the story of how nine celebrities not only adopted their pets, but rescued them from some very dire situations. Whether it’s walking the red carpet or the streets of Brooklyn, riding in dog carriers or golf carts, or eating asparagus or at Gracie Mansion, the lives of these animals will never be the same since being saved by their celebs.
In 2012 Mary and Alex were assigned to live in Miami and be embedded with the Marlins baseball team as the Field Producer and DP on MLB Productions Emmy Award winning show The Franchise: A Season With The Miami Marlins, which aired on Showtime. While in Miami we had many responsibilities including deciding show story lines, shoot locations, and interview looks. We were also charged with maintaining relationships with players and their wives, coaches, and front office personnel from the General Manger and team President to the team’s owner. Our ability to cultivate these relationships was essential to the show’s success.
We’ve enjoyed working with CBS Sports Network since 2018. Most recently Alex was the Director of Photography for their documentary “Big House, The Pearl & The Triumph of Winston-Salem State.” We’ve additionally worked on their series Four Sides Of The Story and a feature on Muhlenberg College head football coach Mike Donnelly.
Since our founding in 2013 we've made it a priority to pursue projects we are passionate about regardless of whether or not we have obtained funding or distribution beforehand. To date we have completed three completely self funded projects which can all be viewed here.
Every March University of Utah runs a promotion for men considering the procedure to schedule their vasectomies to coincide with the start of March Madness. This is a short documentary we directed, shot and edited capturing the experience of a few men who chose to take advantage of the promotion.
Through the portraits of three Wisconsin surfers, this short documentary explores the shared passion that drives a group of surfers to seek that next freshwater wave. When the Waves Call is the first documentary entirely shot, produced and edited by ImagineMotion Productions and won Best Short at the East Lansing Film Festival.
You are a first year college basketball head coach. You have no gym. You have no returning players. Not a single winning season in school history.
That’s not a recipe for winning a single game, let alone qualifying for a berth in the Junior College National Championship Tournament. Yet, this is exactly what Preston Beverly and the Lincoln College of New England team did this season.
LCNE is a two-year Junior College (NJCAA Division III) that has essentially built a basketball program overnight. In his first year at the helm, Coach Beverly took on the task of recruiting a group of overlooked players to play at a tiny school in rural Connecticut with none of the usual selling points coaches employ in their arsenal - a state of the art facility, athletic scholarships, a tradition of winning.
All he had was his reputation as a former D1 player at VMI and a vision of creating a winning system on the blank canvas of this program. From scheduling practice time at a local Boys and Girls Club to facing the challenge of gelling 14 disparate young men into a cohesive unit in just a few short months, Coach Beverly certainly had his hands full in his first season.
“Hard Work and Family: A JuCo Story”, an all-access documentary short, immerses you into the hearts and minds of an unorthodox college basketball team. Fueled by grit, determination and a strong family ethic, they fight relentlessly for the school’s first national tournament win. While the rest of the country was caught up in the brackets and upsets of “March Madness”, this story gives voice and visibility to the widely ignored realm of JuCo basketball.

PepsiCo became a new client in 2020 tapping us to help them create videos for their Employee Resource Groups, a support system for identity groups within PepsiCo. This project has taken us across the country learning how employees connect to help each other, as well as those in their home cities.
